Description

Chocolate Lasagna is a decadent no-bake dessert featuring layers of crushed Oreo cookie crust, creamy cream cheese and Cool Whip filling, rich vanilla and chocolate pudding, topped with more Cool Whip, Oreo crumbs, chocolate syrup, and optional chocolate curls or candies. It offers a delightful combination of textures and flavors perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 14.3 ounces package of Oreo cookies regular, not double stuffed
  • ½ cup melted margarine or butter

Filling

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 16 ounces Cool Whip softened (divided: 8 ounces for second layer, 8 ounces for final layer)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 5.1 ounces box instant vanilla pudding
  • 5.1 ounces box instant chocolate pudding
  • 3 cups milk

Toppings

  • Chocolate syrup
  • Optional topping: Chocolate curls or your favorite chocolate candy chopped into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Place whole Oreos into a food processor and pulse until the crumbs are even. Set aside one cup of the crushed Oreos for topping later. Mix the remaining crushed Oreos with ½ cup melted margarine or butter. Press this mixture firmly onto the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan to form an even crust. Refrigerate to chill and set.
  2. Make second layer: In a bowl, mix 8 ounces softened cream cheese, 8 ounces softened Cool Whip, and 1 cup powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Spread this mixture evenly over the chilled Oreo crust. Return the pan to the refrigerator to chill and allow the layer to set.
  3. Prepare third layer: In another bowl, whisk together one package of instant vanilla pudding and one package of instant chocolate pudding with 3 cups of cold milk until fully combined and slightly thickened. Spread this pudding mixture gently over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Add final layer and finish toppings: Spread the remaining 8 ounces of Cool Whip evenly over the pudding layer. Sprinkle the reserved crushed Oreos on top. Drizzle a light layer of chocolate syrup over the entire dessert. Optionally, garnish with chocolate curls or your favorite chopped chocolate candies. Refrigerate the entire dessert until ready to serve, allowing layers to fully set.

Notes

  • Allow each layer to chill in the refrigerator for about 10-20 minutes to ensure the dessert firms up and the layers hold their shape.
  • If you don't have a food processor, crush Oreos by placing them in a large Ziploc bag and use a rolling pin to crush to desired consistency.
  • Try adding mix-ins like M&M’s or nuts between layers for extra texture and flavor.
  • Store leftovers covered tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
  • Chocolate lasagna can be frozen in an airtight container for 2-3 months; thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
