Description

This Christmas Gumdrop Nougat Candy is a festive and colorful treat combining soft marshmallows, creamy white chocolate, and chewy gummy candies. Perfect for holiday celebrations, this easy-to-make candy features a delightful texture contrast and vibrant pops of flavor from the Dots gumdrops.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 10 ounces Dots Candy
  • 1 10-ounce bag mini marshmallows
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 ¾ cups white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper and set aside to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt White Chocolate: Place white chocolate chips in a small microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 2 minutes and 30 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds to avoid overheating, until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  3. Melt Marshmallows and Butter: In a medium mixing bowl, add the mini marshmallows and butter. Microwave on high for 2 minutes or until marshmallows have risen to the top. Remove and stir until butter is fully melted and marshmallows form a smooth mixture.
  4. Combine Chocolate and Marshmallow Mixture: Quickly add the melted white chocolate to the marshmallow mixture and stir thoroughly but swiftly to combine.
  5. Add Gumdrops: Stir in all but ⅓ cup of Dots Candy, evenly distributing the gumdrops throughout the nougat mixture.
  6. Pour into Pan: Immediately pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Spray your hands with cooking spray and spread the mixture evenly.
  7. Decorate and Set: Press the remaining ⅓ cup of Dots candy onto the top, filling any gaps and adding colorful decoration. Allow the nougat to cool and set at room temperature for approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes until firm.

Notes

  • Using cooking spray on your hands prevents the sticky nougat from adhering to your skin while spreading.
  • You can substitute white chocolate chips with almond bark or candy melts if preferred.
  • For easier cutting, chill the nougat in the refrigerator to firm it up faster.
  • Store the nougat in an airtight container at room temperature to maintain freshness.
  • Ensure to stir the white chocolate frequently during microwaving to prevent burning.
