Description

A rich and flavorful Creamy Garlic Butter Salmon recipe featuring pan-seared salmon fillets smothered in a luscious garlic butter cream sauce with Parmesan and fresh parsley. Perfect for a quick yet elegant dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon and Seasoning

  • 4 salmon fillets (5-8 oz. each)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Season the salmon: Season both sides of the salmon fillets generously with salt and pepper to enhance the flavor before cooking.
  2. Pan-fry the salmon: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon fillets and cook until golden brown, about 4 minutes per side depending on thickness. Remove excess oil from the pan, leaving enough to sauté the garlic.
  3. Add butter and baste: Melt the butter in the pan. Tilt the pan and spoon the melted butter over the salmon fillets to keep them moist and flavorful.
  4. Remove salmon and sauté garlic: Take salmon out of the pan and set aside. Add minced garlic to the pan and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  5. Deglaze with wine (optional): Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for 2 minutes until it evaporates, adding depth to the sauce.
  6. Add broth and cream: Reduce heat to medium-low. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine.
  7. Incorporate cheese and seasonings: Add grated Parmesan cheese and stir until fully melted into the sauce. Season with chopped parsley, salt, and pepper to taste.
  8. Simmer the sauce: Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  9. Reintroduce salmon: Return the salmon fillets to the pan. Simmer for a few minutes until the salmon is warmed through and well coated with sauce.
  10. Serve: Spoon the creamy garlic butter sauce over the salmon, garnish with extra parsley, and serve hot for a delicious meal.

Notes

  • Switch fresh parsley with thyme or dill for varied herbal flavors.
  • Sauté diced shallots or onions with garlic for enhanced sauce depth.
  • Season salmon with garlic and onion powder before searing for extra flavor.
  • Add capers or lemon slices to the sauce for a zestier taste.
  • Marinate salmon in lemon juice for 15-30 minutes or drizzle lemon before serving to brighten flavors.
  • Include red pepper flakes if you prefer a spicy kick.
  • Add baby spinach to the cream sauce for added texture and nutrition.
