Description

This Garlic Bread Pizza recipe combines the classic flavors of garlic bread and pizza into a quick and easy meal. Using French bread topped with garlic butter, pizza sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, and parmesan cheese, it's baked to golden, bubbly perfection. Ideal for a fast dinner or a fun appetizer that's sure to please the whole family.

Ingredients

Scale

Garlic Butter

  • ½ cup salted butter softened
  • 6 garlic cloves finely minced or pressed
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

French Bread Pizzas

  • 1 pound French bread or Italian bread
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 8 ounces low-moisture mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 15 pepperoni slices
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Chopped fresh parsley to garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400℉. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Make Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix together softened salted butter, minced garlic cloves, and chopped fresh parsley until well combined.
  3. Prepare Bread: Cut the French bread in half lengthwise to create two long pieces, like preparing garlic bread.
  4. Spread Garlic Butter: Spread half of the garlic butter mixture on each piece of bread. Place the bread cut side up on the parchment-lined sheet pan. Bake for 5 minutes to warm and slightly toast the bread.
  5. Add Pizza Sauce: Remove the bread from the oven and evenly spread ¼ cup pizza sauce on each bread half.
  6. Add Toppings: Evenly distribute shredded mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, and parmesan cheese across the bread halves.
  7. Bake Pizzas: Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let rest for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with optional red pepper flakes, chopped fresh parsley, and extra parmesan cheese, if desired. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use a bakery-style loaf with a soft crust for best results.
  • For a quicker meal, substitute frozen garlic bread for the French bread and skip the garlic butter step; then add sauce, cheese, and toppings directly.
  • Low-moisture freshly shredded mozzarella is preferable for optimal melt and texture.
  • Mixing parmesan with mozzarella enhances flavor and browning.
  • If you prefer spicier flavor, add more red pepper flakes according to taste.
