Ingredients
Scale
Garlic Butter
- ½ cup salted butter softened
- 6 garlic cloves finely minced or pressed
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
French Bread Pizzas
- 1 pound French bread or Italian bread
- ½ cup pizza sauce
- 8 ounces low-moisture mozzarella cheese shredded
- 15 pepperoni slices
- 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Chopped fresh parsley to garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400℉. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside.
- Make Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix together softened salted butter, minced garlic cloves, and chopped fresh parsley until well combined.
- Prepare Bread: Cut the French bread in half lengthwise to create two long pieces, like preparing garlic bread.
- Spread Garlic Butter: Spread half of the garlic butter mixture on each piece of bread. Place the bread cut side up on the parchment-lined sheet pan. Bake for 5 minutes to warm and slightly toast the bread.
- Add Pizza Sauce: Remove the bread from the oven and evenly spread ¼ cup pizza sauce on each bread half.
- Add Toppings: Evenly distribute shredded mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, and parmesan cheese across the bread halves.
- Bake Pizzas: Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let rest for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with optional red pepper flakes, chopped fresh parsley, and extra parmesan cheese, if desired. Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Use a bakery-style loaf with a soft crust for best results.
- For a quicker meal, substitute frozen garlic bread for the French bread and skip the garlic butter step; then add sauce, cheese, and toppings directly.
- Low-moisture freshly shredded mozzarella is preferable for optimal melt and texture.
- Mixing parmesan with mozzarella enhances flavor and browning.
- If you prefer spicier flavor, add more red pepper flakes according to taste.
