Ingredients
Scale
Steak Bites
- 1/2 tablespoon avocado oil
- 2 pounds steak, cut into small bite size pieces
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Sauce and Garnish
- 2 tablespoons butter or ghee
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- Green onion, for garnish
Instructions
- Season the Steak Bites: In a bowl, combine the steak pieces with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to coat all the bites evenly with the seasonings.
- Brown the Steak: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the avocado oil. Once hot, add the steak bites in a single layer. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned. Cook in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding. Remove the browned steak from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté Garlic in Butter: Remove any excess water or juices from the skillet. Add the butter or ghee and let it melt over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant but not burnt.
- Combine and Finish: Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss for 1 to 2 minutes, coating them thoroughly in the garlic butter sauce. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.
- Garnish and Serve: Plate the steak bites and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- For dairy-free or Whole30 compliance, substitute butter with ghee.
- Use steak cuts like sirloin, ribeye, or tenderloin for best tenderness.
- Ensure the skillet is hot before adding steak to get a good sear.
- Cook steak in batches if necessary to prevent steaming instead of searing.
- Adjust red pepper flakes according to your preferred spice level or omit for mild flavor.
- Serve with a side of vegetables, salad, or cauliflower rice for a complete meal.
