Ingredients
Scale
Salmon Bites
- 1 ½ pounds salmon, about 4 filets, skins removed, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Hot Honey Glaze
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
- ¼ cup (85 g) hot honey, homemade or store-bought
Garnish
- parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 390°F to ensure it is hot enough for cooking the salmon bites evenly and to crispy perfection.
- Season the salmon: In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, and black pepper. Add the salmon cubes and gently toss them until they are fully coated with the seasoning mixture.
- Air fry the salmon: Place the seasoned salmon cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook in batches. Air fry for 9-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until they reach an internal temperature between 140°F and 145°F and are cooked through.
- Prepare the hot honey glaze: While the salmon is cooking, melt the unsalted butter and hot honey together in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Once melted and warmed through, remove from heat.
- Toss salmon in glaze: Once the salmon bites are cooked, add them to the saucepan with the hot honey glaze. Gently toss to coat each piece evenly with the sweet and spicy sauce.
- Garnish and serve: Transfer the glazed salmon bites to a serving dish, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Oven Instructions: Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the seasoned salmon cubes on the sheet and bake for 16 minutes, flipping halfway through, until internal temperature reaches 145°F. Toss with hot honey glaze and garnish with parsley.
- To check doneness, use a meat thermometer to ensure salmon is cooked safely but still moist.
- For homemade hot honey, combine honey with chili flakes or hot sauce to taste.
- Use fresh parsley for garnish to add a bright, fresh flavor to the dish.
- Serve with rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
