Description

A refreshing and naturally sweetened Peach Iced Tea made with a blend of brewed tea, pureed peaches, honey, and sugar, perfect for warm days and peach lovers.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 family size tea bag

Peach Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 2 cups frozen peaches, thawed and pureed (or fresh peeled and sliced peaches)

For Serving

  • 2 cups frozen peaches (do not thaw)
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat, add the tea bag, and steep for 5 minutes. Pour the brewed tea into a 2-quart pitcher and set aside.
  2. Make the Peach Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup water, sugar, and honey. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves completely. Add the pureed peaches and return to a low boil. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool.
  3. Strain the Syrup: Pour the cooled peach mixture through a mesh sieve over a small bowl, pressing on the peach pulp to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the pulp and reserve the syrup.
  4. Combine Tea and Syrup: Add peach syrup to the brewed tea to taste, generally between 1 to 2 cups of syrup for 4 cups of tea, adjusting for desired sweetness. For single servings (8 ounces), add 1/4 to 1/2 cup syrup.
  5. Serve: Divide the frozen peaches among 4 glasses, add ice cubes, and pour the sweetened peach tea over the top. Serve immediately.
  6. Storage: Store any unused peach syrup and leftover tea in the refrigerator for future use.

Notes

  • Frozen peaches work well in this recipe when fresh peaches are not available.
  • Adjust the syrup amount according to your preferred sweetness level.
  • Leftover tea and peach syrup should be refrigerated to maintain freshness.
  • Freeze fresh peach slices on a parchment-lined pan before serving if substituting for frozen peaches.
