Description

Valentine’s Oreo Truffles are a delightful no-bake treat made by blending crushed golden Oreo cookies with cream cheese, then coating them in melted vanilla candy coating and decorating with festive Valentine’s sprinkles. Perfect for gifting or sharing during the holiday, these truffles are creamy, sweet, and irresistibly festive.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 42 golden Oreo cookies
  • 6 ounce cream cheese, room temperature
  • 20 drops pink food coloring, divided

Coating and Decoration

  • 16 ounces vanilla candy coating
  • Favorite Valentine sprinkles, for decorating

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oreo Crumbs: Place 42 golden Oreo cookies in a food processor or crush them in a sealed bag using a rolling pin until you get fine crumbs.
  2. Mix Oreo and Cream Cheese: Transfer Oreo crumbs into a mixer or keep in the food processor bowl. Add 6 ounces of softened cream cheese and 10 drops of pink food coloring. Mix thoroughly until the mixture can hold together when rolled. If too thin, add more cookie crumbs.
  3. Form Truffle Balls: Using a small ice cream scoop, melon baller, or rounded teaspoon, scoop uniform amounts of the Oreo mixture. Roll each scoop between your palms to form firm 1 1/4 inch balls. Place the balls on a parchment-lined cookie sheet and freeze while preparing the coating. You should get about 24 truffles.
  4. Prepare Candy Coating: Break 16 ounces of vanilla candy coating into pieces and place in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20 second intervals, stirring after each, until fully melted and smooth, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Dip Truffles in Coating: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each truffle into the melted candy coating, ensuring full coverage. Drag the bottom against the bowl's edge to remove excess coating. Place dipped truffles back on the parchment paper.
  6. Decorate Truffles: While the coating is still soft, sprinkle favorite Valentine sprinkles over the truffles. Repeat with all remaining balls.
  7. Set and Serve: Refrigerate the coated truffles for at least 15 minutes to set the coating. Serve at room temperature for the best flavor and texture. Enjoy!

Notes

  • To store, keep truffles refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • You can freeze truffles for up to 3 months; thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
  • If you don’t have a food processor, crush Oreo cookies in a sealed bag with a rolling pin.
  • Add additional cookie crumbs to the mixture if it’s too soft to roll.
  • Use a toothpick to gently remove excess melted candy coating from the fork to avoid clumps.
  • Get creative with decorations by adding cookie crumbs, crushed candy, chopped nuts, or contrasting chocolate drizzle before the coating sets.
  • Cream cheese can safely be left at room temperature for up to 2 hours according to the FDA.
